About the APUSH Exam
The AP U.S. History National Exam is on Friday, May 8, 2015 in 8:00am. The goal of the APUSH exam is to make a "qualified" score (3, 4 or 5) to receive 6 hours of college credit. Each colleges/universities except different "qualifed" scores to receive the college credit. Ex. UT takes a 4-5 Texas A&M takes a 4 Texas State takes a 4 Sam Houston takes a 3
About four weeks before the AP National Exam, Mrs. Barczi will start doing review sessions for the exam snd will help student prepare for the exam in multiple ways. But ultimately student success on the APUSH National Exam is up to the student and how much they are willing to study!!
Six hours is a great deal of credit so they don't just give it away!!
The AP U.S. History Exam is three hours and five minutes long.
In Section I, students are given 55 minutes to answer 55 multiple-choice questions and complete 4 short answer questions in 45 minutes.
In Section II, students are given a 45-minute exercise in the use of historical evidence (the document-based question or DBQ),
which includes a 15-minute reading period; then students select 1 other long essays to write.
Section I
Part A Multiple Choice 40%- 55 multiple choice exam in 55 minutes
Part B Short Answer 20%- 4 short answers in 45 minutes
Section II
Part A DBQ Essay 25%- 45 minutes 15 minutes prep time (60 minutes total)
Part B Long Essay 15%- 30 minutes 5 minutes prep time (35 minutes total)
